Four students and Mrs Clark travelled to London Olympia for a day of dance classes, watching professional and dance college performances and the opportunity to speak with top dance and performing arts colleges about further education and summer schools. We were also joined by an ex-student Briony Andrew who is at London Studio Centre studying for a degree in dance. One of the exhibiting dance Colleges.
The day started well with Chanique Green meeting Twist and Pulse and Molly Rasmussen and Katie Malabar meeting Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette form Strictly Come Dancing.
Throughout the day our students talked to many dance colleges about future pathways and have an insight in to the expectations of such courses.
Each student selected dance classes that specifically interested them, Ella Phillips enjoyed a session of Lindy Hop, Westside Story and an introduction to Latin dancing.
Chanique shone in an acrobatics class with the focus on a free walkover!
Whilst Molly and Katie took part in a commercial and contemporary class led by London Studio Centre and Westside Story.
The journey home was spent discussing the classes, possible summer schools and future studies!
