Book lovers at Christ the King College attempted to set a new Guinness World Record for the “most books exchanged in eight hours at multiple venues” on Friday 6th February.
The Christ the King students were among those from 80 schools nationwide who took part in the attempt in celebration of National Libraries Day on Saturday. A number of Year 7 and 8 students took part swapping books which ranged from graphic novels, classics through to modern day fiction.
A college spokeswoman said: “It has been a great opportunity for us to promote the College library and a love of reading.”
It will take up to 12 weeks for the school to find out if the record attempt was successful.
